“Although my drawings are just two and a quarter by two and three quarter inches in size,I don’t think of them as small. They are concentrated. Honestly, I don’t see scale of drawings as all that important. Like a book, we don’t judge its value based on size. We measure its value based on content. And I think the same logic should apply to art. It doesn’t matter how you get somebody there- just that you do. The challenge is to charge the available space- no matter the size – in the most meaningful way possible. For me, its always a balance between mathematics and emotion. I have created my own vocabulary, not with words – obviously – but with images. There is recurring imagery in my work, like recurring characters in a series of novels. There is no narrative to my drawings…”
