“My work is all about risk”. Large
scale ceramic works that are exposed to extreme heat bring together elements
of chance, science, planned accidents and discovery that envelope Chaleff’s
idea of ‘risk’ to produce amazingly beautiful objects. His
mastery of this technique and directing this element of risk has made
him one of the leading artists working in clay today.Chaleff’s work
is included in many private and public collections including the Metropolitan
Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Brooklyn Museum, Smithsonian Institution
as well as many other prominent collections nationwide.
